Hello, and welcome to the Sidelines masterclasses. These are notes which I have done, based on the mobile game, Sidelines. I go by the name of The Excel-lent in the game, with the club name of Excel-ona. You might still see my team in the game, if you do so, feel free to tag me if you have any questions.
Just to be clear, all these notes are my opinion from playing the game, and in no way are they official suggestions. I do discuss them with Ejay (the game designer) from time to time, but they are very much my opinion. I merely play the game and have no input into the making of it.
I was asked various questions over and over, so I ended up typing the answers in emails to myself, so I had them ready when asked. Those then became in-game ‘masterclasses’ which were then put on Discord and have now become this PDF. To find these on Discord, please follow the link to the Discord server from the game itself.
Otherwise, here are all the masterclasses, which have all been tagged based on the stage when they would be most relevant, so please use those tags to filter for your stage of the game.
There are many ways to play Sidelines, that is one of the great aspects of this game. Although I try to give balanced views and useful information, these are just my views and there are many ways to do things. Please explore the game, try other things, and don’t be tied down with my views and opinions. I always strive for the most efficient way of doing things, and at the end of the day, this is a game to be enjoyed and not a job! So, take what you will from this, and then take your own journey through the game of Sidelines.

Thanks for reading these masterclasses, I really do hope they helped.
If you have any other questions, or questions relating to these masterclasses, please ask in one of the pubs, or on Discord. I do have some spreadsheet resources for Sidelines, but they do often change, so please message me in the game for more info if you’re interested in these.
As I mentioned before, these are just my take on the game, and I have very little (if any) influence on how the game is made. Many other managers will have different opinions, so it is always useful to chat to others in any of the available pubs in the game.
See you on the Sidelines!
The Excel-lent
